50º Aniversario del Hospital General Docente ´Enrique Cabrera´.
El viernes 10 de junio, en el Teatro del Hospital General Docente ´Enrique Cabrera´ (EC) se efectuó este evento coordinado por el Prof. DrC Porfirio Hernández, Vicedirector del IHI, quien hizo la introducción a esta Jornada ante un nutrido auditorio en el que estaban presentes, además de profesionales de ambas instituciones, especialistas de los servicios de hematología de un buen número de centros hospitalarios de la capital y también de Cárdenas, Pinar del Río, Matanzas, así como del PAMI y otras instituciones de salud, incluidos varios alumnos de la Facultad de Tecnología «Salvador Allende».
Por parte de los profesionales del Instituto de Hematología e Inmunología (IHI) se presentaron temas relacionados con el diagnóstico de la Enfermedad hemolítica del recién nacido; la aloinmunización contra células sanguíneas en el primer trimestre del embarazo; el uso de los hemoderivados en el Hospital; el Tratamiento integral de las embarazadas con trastornos de la coagulación; el referido a la paciente embarazada con drepanocitosis; el uso de la terapia celular en la osteoartrosis de la rodilla; y la caracterización de las células mononucleares de médula ósea utilizadas en la terapia celular regenerativa.
Por los especialistas del EC, se expusieron los resultados de trabajos conjuntos en el uso de la terapia celular en pacientes con lesiones crónicas de la médula espinal por traumatismos raquimedulares; el impacto de la inyección subtenoniana de eritropoyetina recombinante en el tratamiento del glaucoma en los primeros casos comunicados en la literatura; el tratamiento de la enfermedad arterial periférica mediante la inyección local de plaquetas; la implantación intralesional de plaquetas en el pie diabético isquémico y el uso de la terapia celular en el linfedema crónico de miembros inferiores.
En sus conclusiones del evento, el Prof. DrC. José M. Ballester, Director del IHI, expresó su satisfacción por los temas expuestos, que son el resultado de un trabajo unido entre ambas instituciones y que debe mantenerse e incrementarse, ya que esta unidad de esfuerzos es la mejor manera de lograr mayores posibilidades en la atención médica a la población.
Particular hincapié hizo en la necesidad de realizar un estudio profundo que posibilite conocer las alteraciones hemostáticas que existen en la mujer, en lo que ya se trabaja por el IHI, lo que contribuirá a disminuir las muertes maternas y algunas complicaciones que presentan las embarazadas. Importancia le dio también al trabajo que deben realizar los comités hospitalarios de transfusiones, para que se hagan las indicaciones realmente necesarias y eliminar reacciones y otros eventos que pueden ser fatales al paciente, profundizando en el uso racional y adecuado de la sangre.
Felicitó a los ponentes y les exhortó a continuar trabajando de igual manera e invitó a todos a la Jornada Científica que en conmemoración del Día Mundial de la Drepanocitosis se efectuará el próximo viernes 17 en ese mismo local.
