A(H1N1) Flu Outbreak at French Clinic Controlled

Paris, Dec 25 (Prensa Latina) French health authorities maintain a A(H1N1) flu outbreak under control at a convalescence clinic in Alta Saboya department, on the border with Switzerland and Italy.

“In general, the situation is under control and we can assure that the spread phase was overcome,” said Patrick Lanfant director of the Chateau Bon Attrait clinic, in Villaz town, where the virus was first reported.

According to Lanfant, three A(H1N1) flue cases have been confirmed, while another 35 have shown symptoms and have received preventive treatment.

The 43-bed clinic admits mostly elderly people who are in rehabilitation phase after a long hospitalization period.

The A(H1N1) Flu outbreak started in 2009 and concluded in 2010. It traveled worldwide and took a toll of about 19,000 lives.
