Red Alert for Volcano Eruption in Chile

Santiago de Chile, Dec 23 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Chile on Sunday declared red alert phase for the commune of Alto Biobío because of Copahue volcano eruption, but so far they have not undertake the evacuation of the settlers.

The alert phase was decreed by the National Emergency Office (Onemi), corresponding to a report of the National Service of Geology and Mining, which indicates that the volcano, about 700 kilometers south of the capital, has glow in his surface activity emitting a plume over a kilometer high.
